Why Choose Uinta Recreation?
We are a 5 star rental and tour company with over 17 years perfecting our craft! We are 5 star rated on Google and Tripadvisor and our emphasis on our guests experience is paramount. A few things that sets us apart from some of our competitors.
1. Your safety is paramount to anything else! We provide every group a GPS messaging device, that allows them to communicate outside of cell service (which is common in the mountains). So no matter where on the mountain you are, we can communicate, know your location and assist if you get stuck or have a mechanical. And if the worst case happens and somebody gets hurt, there is an SOS feature that allows you to send your location and emergency info to 911. These devices are rarely used, but great to have if something goes wrong. We are the only outfitter we know of that provides these for their guests. All of our primary guides are wilderness first responder certified and have avalanche training and go out prepared with medical kits, safety and survival gear, the experience, skills and most importantly the good judgement to help avoid needing it.
2. Private trail head. All our rentals and guided tours run out of our private trail head and access hundreds of thousand of acres of Uinta National Forest public lands. These public lands boast hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails and plenty of backcountry to explore. We are permitted with the Forest Service to operate and guide here. The trail head is at 8000′ elevation and accesses trails and mountains up to 11,000′. The views and terrain is stunning! So much better than a private ranch in the Park City Area!
3. Customized interactive maps! For our self guided renters, we have a custom google maps overlay that you will download onto your phone. It has the trails marked and color coordinated as well as location of the private trail head and other info. You then use the GPS on your phone to navigate and see exactly where you are at on the trail system. This system works amazing and we rarely have guests get turned around out there. We are the only outfitter that does this! So throw away that paper map and join us!
4. Unparalleled equipment! Some companies only run trail machines and some run a little of both, and most run them into the ground, but we run a great selection AND keep them up to date by purchasing new machines each year and keeping a constant rotation of newer equipment. All of our snowmobiles are electric start and fuel injected and we only run what we know to be the best, most reliable snowmobiles.
5. Knowledgable staff. Uinta Recreation is owned and ran by Outdoor Recreation Professionals! Individuals who have spent their lifetime working in outdoor winter recreation and have years of avalanche training, winter survival skills, Wilderness first responder certifications and decades of hands on experience in the backcountry! Whether you are going out self guided or with a guide, we will take the needed steps to guide you through an amazing experience!

This is the 850’s little brother. Same chassis and suspension with a tad bit less HP. Still very much a high performance snowmobile and designed as an off trail machine. This snowmobile would be best for those with little to no experience looking to ride with experienced off trail riders and friends. Do not rent this snowmobile if the majority of your riding will be on trail. If the majority of your riding will be on trail, the Back Country 600 is your go to machine.

No need to trailer snowmobiles! We have our own private trail head near the Strawberry Reservoir where the equipment is staged. Simply make your reservation, stop by our shop at the specified time of your reservation to do paperwork and get geared up, then take a short drive up to our private trail head and park and ride!

Helmets are free of charge, unless renting a premium helmet. You’ll want a pair of goggles to wear with your helmet, bring your own or rent a pair form us!
Oil is charged at a rate of $12 per rental. This covers the oil the two stroke engines burn on a typical rental.
Gear rentals include snowpants or bibs, coat, boots and goggles. A complete package rental is $45 and includes coat, pants, boots and goggles or premium helmet. If rented individually it is $15 for each item except goggles and premium helmets which are $10 each. We do not rent gloves (people wipe their nose with them and they get gross) so bring your own, or we have a decent selection for sale in our office.
Fuel is based on actual usage. If riding from our private trail head, we will simply fill the snowmobiles upon your return and charge the credit card on file for the fuel. If you pick up the snowmobiles on a trailer, they will leave full of fuel and the renter is responsible to return the snowmobiles full of fuel. Premium non ethanol fuel is required. Please ask us where to fill up.
