LAURENT BOUZAGLOU
Born in Casablanca Morocco, Laurent’s first language is French and he remains fluent. He moved to Los Angeles at the age of 5 and lived there until the age of 20. He then moved to Park City, UT in 1981.He worked at Park City Mountain Resort as a ski host and for the race department from 1983-1986. A graduate from the University of Utah in geography/urban/ ski area planning with a minor in French he began and completed EMT training and studied snow dynamics at the 500 level under Peter Lev, Liam Fitzgerald, Rick Wyatt and Tom Kimbrough. While in Salt Lake, attending University he worked as a host at Snowbird for 2 years. He then returned to Park City in 1987 and began working as an Interconnect ski guide for Ski Utah until 2001.
Laurent has guided over 700 backcountry tours in the Wasatch range as a certified EMT. During his time as an Interconnect guide he was hired by Rap Films to guide in the Chugach Range of Alaska and around Juneau. Laurent also had the opportunity to guide in the backcountry of Jackson Hole, WY and the Wasatch Mountains working on ski films and mountain bike commercials for Trek Bicycles. In 2002 he moved to Heber City, UT. where he bought a building lot and built his home where he still resides with his wife of 27 years. The last 20 years he has spent recreating in the Wasatch Mountains in the winter and doing construction, restoring cars and boats in the summer months. Will be certified in WFR and CPR for the 2023-2024 winter season. His hobbies include backcountry telemark skiing, surfing, boating, kiteboarding, snowmobiling, mountain biking, and snowboarding.
